DeSantis Derangement Syndrome

An irrational obsession with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is wildly popular with his state, and who is growing in popularity with conservatives and libertarians. As he is seen to be a potential presidential candidate in 2024, he immediate came under attack in 2021 following Biden’s election and quick decline in popularity. The same media players who obsessively committed to biased or even dishonest reporting on former President Donald Trump have quickly refocused their attention on the Governor of Florida in an effort to damage his reputation more than three full years before the next presidential election. Many of the same people who previously could not have even named a single Governor in America besides their own now suddenly are obsessed with discrediting DeSantis- exactly the same liberal base that suffered from Trump Derangement Syndrome, and focused obsessively on Donald Trump. In psychiatric terms, this fixation would normally be diagnosed as obsessive-compulsive disorder. Believing any and all claims that perpetuate this obsession is a reflection of the confirmation bias now intrinsic to the social media hive mind. DDS will only intensify until either he is successfully discredited, or it backfires and propels him to the forefront of the presidential race, where all of the free attention he has gotten for four years will possibly position his as a conservative hero and simultaneously expose and magnify the bias and blatant dishonesty of the media.
“CNN has been running non-stop stories shamelessly attacking Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, they are clearly developing a terrible case of DeSantis Derangement Syndrome.”

“All of my friends on social media who used to have TDS, now have DeSantis Derangement Syndrome instead, it’s really sad to see that become their whole personality.”

abandonware

n. software that is no longer sold or supported by the original publisher / developer, often found as free downloads on the internet because it cannot be obtained elsewhere. Not legal, but often seen as morally acceptable because the company that made it is no longer selling the title, nor releasing it as freeware, therefore abandonware is "keeping the game alive", so to speak.
Doom II is not abandonware because id still sells it, while The Incredible Machine is not sold, therefore is abandonware.
