discussion

Also known as a "we need to talk" situation. It means you're in trouble, or you're being dumped... you poor, poor dear.
She said we needed to have a discussion and next thing I knew... my clothes were all being tossed out the window... (usually in this context over beers)

discussion

An interplay between a man and a woman, in which a woman talks while a man tunes her out and grunts occassionally to create the illusion that he is paying attention. The woman may interpret these grunts in any way she wishes. Discussions are inherently dangerous to men, because they may unknowingly agree to things that lead to unlpeasant surprises later.
Male: What do you mean you stopped taking birth control?

Female: Don't you remember? We had this discussion!

Iam 😰 "But WHY though?"

Hym 🤷 ♂️ "Something to talk about..."

Iam "I guess but still... Who would even want to have that conversation?"

Hym "I donno but that's the problem with society nowadays."

Iam 🤨"That... No one wants to talk about feline aids?"

Discussion Pad

A person ,without a say, whose role in a discussion is to acquiese in the end.
Just like pressure is applied at a rubber stamp pad to use it's ink to print upon a surface. Image printed is solely at the discretion of the pin up dye. Stamp pad just provides the ink and has no say in the image print up, similar is the role of a discussion pad in a discussion.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
