You are right to feel bad for participating in this. You are wrong to do this to me. You don't care what I said. You don't care what I did. And neither do they. They are not going to make good on whatever threat they are making and when I inevitably DO... You are going to have no one to blame but yourself. They are not going to do anything to you for coming forward because to do so they would have to confess their complicity. And they are not going to give up what they will lose. Stop crying. Do the opposite of what is making you cry. That is not something I should have to explain to you."

The mind game, often brought up unintentionally by your friends, where you begin comparing yourself to your boyfriend or girlfriend's ex. Often occurs when someone says something about you that is extremely similar to the ex or a trait completely opposite of you that you're jealous of.

Guy 1: My girlfriend and I got into fight cause she was texting her ex tonight, what's he got that I don't?

Guy 2: Dude, don't play the comparison game, you'll probably lose.

Girl 1: Oh, him and his ex-girlfriend used to always make sushi together, too!

Girl 2: Thanks for starting another round of the comparison game, bitch.

A societal phenomenon in which individuals habitually engage in the practice of constantly measuring themselves, their achievements, possessions, and life circumstances against those of others. This pervasive tendency is fueled by the prevalence of social media, advertising, and the ease of access to others' curated narratives, which can lead to feelings of inadequacy, envy, and anxiety.

Comparison Culture often fosters unrealistic standards of success and happiness, as individuals strive to match or surpass the perceived achievements of their peers, acquaintances, or even celebrities. This can result in detrimental effects on mental health, self-esteem, and overall well-being, as the relentless pursuit of comparison tends to overshadow one's own accomplishments and unique life journey.

Comparison Culture makes me feel like I'm never going to be as good as anyone else I see on social media.
