A
psychiatric disorder, typically characterized by an overzealous need to commit. The impulse to commit is intense and unregulated and can lead to serious emotional and financial
consequences, if not for the person afflicted, then, for the object of the commitmentphiliac. COPHs, the official acronym for commitmentphiliacs, often find themselves married to people they don't know and step parenting children they have not met. They speak in
hyperbolic terms of their beloved while unable to describe the person's precise appearance or whereabouts. Excessive contact with a COPH can induce its contrasting disorder, commitment phobia.
