Chosen Family

A Chosen Family is typically a collective of close friends who you consider better family than your biologically family. Chosen families are often made individuals who don't feel a strong familial connection to their bio family for one reason or another, which can vary greatly, however it is commonly due to being disowned for being part of the LGBTQ+ Most people from Chosen Families during their late highschool, early college years, as they come to realize thing about themselves, and their bio family, and make bigger choices about what they want for themselves.
David: "And this is my sister Jamie."
Tony: "Wow, you have a lot of siblings."
David: "Well, most of them are Chosen Family."
Tony: "What happened with your bio family?"
David: "They couldn't support me being bisexual, so they disowned me. Jamie is my real family now."
