To play a computer game, especially an Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO), for extreme lengths of time. This may come at the expense of hygiene, social interaction, even nutrition. Popularized by the article "The Surreal World" by Hayes Reed where he described an Ultima Online obsessed friend's apartment as, "A den of cat ass and murdered time."

Cat Assing

Verb. 1) Used to describe the homebody behavior of a 'cat person' who stays at home instead of engaging in meaningful social relationships.

2) Also used to describe general lolly-gagging and laying about doing nothing.
Julie won't come hang out tonight because she's too busy cat assing around the house with her clowder of cats.

Julie is unemployed, so all she does is cat ass on the sofa playing video games.
