Bullshit Diver

Someone who dives headfirst into trending news, social media narratives, or any headline starting with "Scientists discovered..." without ever checking the primary source. They outsource all their critical thinking to perceived authority figures and aggressively enforce the current mainstream narrative onto their friends. If anyone asks for proof, questions a methodology, or points out media bias, they instantly shut down the conversation by labelling the sceptic a "conspiracy theorist."

Essentially, they are the exact opposite of a hardcore conspiracy theorist—a blindly trusting news fanatic. Yet, they suffer from the identical intellectual laziness. While a conspiracy theorist rejects all authority, a bullshit diver worships it, taking everything at face value as long as it has a shiny logo attached.
Dave: "Dude, scientists just discovered that eating artificial turf is actually good for your gut biome! It was trending all morning."
Mike: "Did you actually read the study's methodology, or just the clickbait headline?"
Dave: "Stop being such a conspiracy theorist, Mike. The article said it's proven!"
Mike: "Alright, you absolute bullshit diver, keep swallowing the feed."

"I had to leave the group chat. Mark turned into a massive bullshit diver—he just regurgitates whatever the news tells him to be mad about today, and if you ask him for an actual source, he just calls you a conspiracy theorist."

Brought to public attention by Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein in the book on the fall of Richard Nixon, All The President’s Men, ratfucker was Nixon’s term for a political operative who sows chaos among opponents; an agent provocateur. It is thought to have originated among campus political rivalries at USC, and seems to have some usage in the US military.
Along with Nixon’s other ratfuckers, Roger Stone caused fights at otherwise peaceful Democratic Party protests to generate a false narrative that the Democrats were violent and dangerous.
