Astrotirf

A portmanteau of astroturf and TIRF (trans inclusionary radical feminism). Astroturf refers to usually when organizations will mass produce support for some issue and masquerade it as mass public opinion even though its only being pushed by a small minority. Astrotirf refers to how some feminists pretend that alot of women support the concept of transgenderism in society (sports, bathrooms) when in reality, only a minority of women actually support such radical changes, as evident from surveys and polling.
Friend 1: I can't believe my high school is allowing biological males in girls bathrooms and girls sports, they're pretending that the girls are ok with it, but we secretly are very uncomfortable with this.

Friend 2: the staff are literally using the astrotirf method. This is some Loudoun county type shit.

astroturf

Creating the impression of public support by paying people in the public to pretend to be supportive.

The false support can take the form of letters to the editor, postings on message boards in response to criticism, and writing to politicians in support of the cause.

Astroturfing is the opposite of "grassroots", genuine public support of an issue.
Mike, admit you just got caught astroturfing. You're just pimping your own blog.

Microsoft didn't have grassroots support, so they created astroturf support.

West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
Some grebo passed with Sabbath playing on his stereo.
The Poppies are at no. 17? God, a grebo band in the charts!
