Also known as 'amnience'. A genre of
music most often used to showcase the progression of mental illnesses,
human experiences, and (rarely) paranormal events/entities through often sampled
music, mostly big-band and ballroom
music from around 1910-1945. The genre is most often used to show the progression of memory loss or old age.
The amnient genre has its beginning in James Leyland Kirby, with his release of Selected Memories From the Haunted Ballroom in 1999. However, the term 'amnient' as a unique music genre was first coined by The Carebear as 'amnience' at approximately the start of
2022, defining it as "An atmosphere or environment that focuses on themes of forgetfulness and loss."
