10D Physics
The study of physical laws across ten dimensions, as required by string theory for mathematical consistency. In 10D physics, the universe is understood as a complex manifold of vibrating strings, with six spatial dimensions compactified—curled up so small they're invisible. The geometry of these hidden dimensions determines everything: particle masses, force strengths, the very possibility of atoms and chemistry. 10D physics investigates how different compactifications produce different low-energy physics, how branes (higher-dimensional membranes) interact, and why we can't see the dimensions that shape our reality—they're too small, too fundamental, too intimate.
Example: "He explained 10D physics to his therapist as a metaphor for his hidden potential. 'The visible dimensions are what everyone sees—my job, my relationships, my surface. But the compactified dimensions are my true self—curled up small, invisible, yet determining everything. If you could see the full 10D structure, you'd understand why I am the way I am.' His therapist said that was either profound or a very elaborate excuse. He said both were true, which was very 10D."
