Red Mist

to see red mist- a condition certain people get into- usually caused by mental conditions but can be brought on by extreme stress/anger- when one is extremely angry there is stress put on facial muscles. the mark for one losing control of themselves and raging, destroying things/people in their vicinity, is when internal blood vessels in or near the eyes start leaking. the blood can sometimes spill into the inside of the eye, causing the person to see everything through a "red mist", hence the name. at this point, however, the person is so angry that they completely lose control and essentially go insane for a time. the condition naturally causes the person's eyes to turn red, which makes the experience for a bystander go from quite frightening to positively terrifying.

Chris was so enraged at the abuse of his lover that he saw red mist.

red tape is an expression that arose from a technological innovation. The red tape directly refering to the leader tape found in many reel to reel tape recorders and small compact cassetes. As there can be no sound recorded on this portion of the tape it was considered frustrating and often likened to bureaucracy when one had to wait for the end of the red tape to hear what was recorded on the tape Hence The expression red tape and or cut through the red tape or cut to the chase

n, A low brow British person who hates Americans and can't argue with one without bringing up the American Revolution, and calling them a Yank as an insult. Similar to an American from the south who hates Northerners and can't argue with one without bringing up the Civil War (the War of Northern Aggression), and calling them a Yankee as an insult. Derived from combination of red coat and red neck.
