laughter legs

A rare condition experienced by some females during spates of intense laughter. Laughter legs are most commonly triggered by a hilarious joke. During an episode, the legs will wiggle, twitch, or squirm vigorously and uncontrollably, sometimes causing harm to the individual or to others in the vicinity of the legs. Further risks exist if the episode occurs while standing upright, causing the individual to thrust forward at high speeds in the direction they happen to be facing. There is no known cure, although studies indicate sadness is an effective treatment.
