A two dimensional human-readable bar code symbology with hundreds of combinations per module. Usually found on Scottish things such as kilts, ribbons, sarongs, and bagpipes. Each clan (a Scottish family, spelled with a C) has its own tartan.

Hamish the red got away with sending the HD-DVD key by way of tartans on kilts in the mail.

The tartan was found on kilts early in the Faerytale Era.

Tartaro-Canalbianco is a river of the Veneto region of Italy; the upper part of its course is in the province of Verona and is known by the name of Tartaro.

Everyone knows the best fish in Italy are from Tartaro!

Tartar Sauce

Giving something to employees that comes at an inconsequential cost to the company; an incentive. Used in the Simpsons when Homer requests more tartar sauce for employees to use on their fish sticks. This theoretically results in better employee moral and, thus, greater productivity.

"Those donuts I put in the break room are pure tartar sauce."

"Let them have their tar-tar sauce" - Mr. Burns

"These lazy employees need some tartar sauce to get them going."

"Give the employees some tartar sauce and then increase their hours."
