The act of getting effed over by someone or something in authority/power over you, especially in an unfair situation.

Me: My company let me go because of a technicality on my work reports.

Friend: dude it sucks when you get burned.

1) an expression used to discribe a particularily harsh insult (a burn)
2) an expression used when someone had a negative past experience
3) when an extreme amount of heat is applied to something long enough to alter it
