serious sounds

Common Slang for when a musical tune sounds very well produced.

Popularity increased after the music track by Guyver Mearns (A hard house producer popular in the music production community at the time and now famous on labels such as Tidy Trax and listed on Discogs) entitled "Serious Sound / You'll Know It" in 2002 which took/rip an audio sample from an old black and white film (Not sure which) "Time to lay down some serious sound" as a direct dialect quote from an actor within the film.

Later popularity was raised for the saying with the music production website 'serious-sounds.net' (2003) a website for music producers to discuss production aspects of music making.

It has since spread into the music production community as a common expression of appreciation for a music artists level of production skill (Arrangement & quality of sound).
example 1

Listener - 'Those are some serious sounds'.
Music Artist - 'Why thank you'.

example 2

Producer - 'I wish I could produce some serious sounds'
Friend - 'Then learn how to do it'.

Pet Sounds

Definitely one of the greatest albums of the 20th century.

Besides Black Sabbath's "Paranoid", Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon", and Iggy & The Stooges' "Fun House", I'd say that "Pet Sounds" is one of the greatest soundtracks for adolescent life you'll ever find. Even I as a teenager today can relate to the lyrics, albeit the fact that this album is over 40 years old.

I dare you to find an alienated teen that isn't able to relate to "I Just Wasn't Made For These Times". Well, considering the fact that most teens are into the latest no talent ass clowns who are currently plaguing the airwaves, I bet you'll have to get him or her to actually listen to the lyrics without becoming bored first. I didn't believe the hype surrounding this album until recently, mostly because I thought of the Beach Boys as a 60's surfer rock band (I've heard most of their singles throughout the years). Hopefully 100 years from now, it will be listened to and appreciated for its greatness.

soundgarden

horribly underrated band from the 90's.i know alot of people on here said that they weren't grunge, but out of all the other "grunge" bands, they seemed to hit the nail on the head the best IMO.all though they were heavily over shadowed by alice in chains and nirvana and such,i honestly think soundgarden is more talented than both.got a problem??
you fuckin stupid ass AIC kids can sit there and bitch about how much you hate nirvana and kurt cobain, and how much you think they are better than them.while i sit back and play some real grunge, soundgarden

sounds like a flan

A more accurate version of Sounds like a plan, because it doesn't sound like a plan, it *is* a plan.
Person 1: "Lets go to the movies."
Person 2: "Sounds like a flan!"
Person 1: "Err...great."

Sounds good

"Sounds good" is the perfect response - to any particular question/suggestion/opinion - that a man can give.
It could mean nothing; and it could mean everything:

"Sounds good."

You know, like it "sounds good" when you slap a girls face with your cock.
