Iceland

I'm proud of being Icelandic. I'm sure you're patriotic too of your country. And I've been reading definitions about Iceland not wanting to be Norwegian and I'm saying that I don't have any problem with the fellow Norwegians out there.

Its quite a conflict on this site.
Personally I think that Iceland should get over the fact that it used to be Norwegian territory. And my father came from Iceland and I've lived in Norway for seven years now and I've met the most nice and clean people ever.

No they wouldn't be in trouble without their Oil. Vikings didn't all come from Norway either. Some came from Sweden. All of Scandinavia. And plus you're all descended from Norwegians who probably loved you.

Did you notice? Oh wait it's probably because you just wanted to start a show for the whole Urban Dictionary. My father who was Icelandic born there and everything is too descended from other Scandinavians who I love.

So now that I've mentioned it no one needs conflict. And I think that people who like to cause conflicts are simply uneducated little cretins with no talent.

I'm still proud of being Icelandic.

icelander

An Icelander is a person from Iceland, someone of Icelandic decent, or someone with Icelandic citzenship.

Most native Icelanders are of Norwegian and Celtic ancestory although there others of other ancestry mainly Scandinavian.

The first inhabitants of Iceland were Irish monks recorded by Norweigan settler Ari Thorgilsson in the Íslendingab(the book of Icelanders) Iceland was settled by the Norse in the 9th century A.D.

The oldest known source that mentions the name "Iceland" is an 11th century Gothic rune carving and the first written source that mentioned Icelands esistance was a book by an Irish monk Dicuil.

Results of genetic testing show the majority of male settlers of Iceland were of Viking heritage, while most of the woman are said to be of Celtic heritage.
Person 1: Man, I wish I was an Icelander.

Person 2: Yeah being from Utah sucks.

Me: Wow, I never realised it can get colder in the winter where I live then in Iceland. Maybe I should move.

Me: Icelanders have the coolest accent.

ireland

One of the few respectable countries left in Europe, Ireland suffered many years under the harsh rule of the evil British. However, by 1900's, the Irish were fed up and whooped their oppressors asses. The British government, being the fuckups that they are, divided Ireland into the Republic of Ireland and North Ireland (Ulster). Efforts from the fair and respectable Sinn Fein and other nationalist parties, to unite the island that is rightfully theirs, have been unsuccessful thanks to British vote "miscounting" and scare tactics.
Irish are often blamed for "harboring terrorists". However, the IRA is a freedom fighting organization who targets military more than civilian targets. British people, being the anti-American assholes they are, will always blame them getting their asses whooped by the IRA on the US because of rightful funds being sent to the IRA from businesses in Boston and New York.
