Refudiate

A made-up English word: a combination of two legitimate words; "refute" and "repudiate". This is similar to George W. Bush's use of the word "misunderestimate" several years prior.

Used by Sarah Palin multiple times in print and conversation, she claims her use of "refudiate" is simply her "contributing to the living language" and justifying her ignorance by saying that "Shakespeare liked to coin new words too".

Despite the best efforts of the GOP and Tea Party spin doctors, its clear to everyone who wasn't home-schooled that she's a fucking idiot.
She (Palin) asked Michelle Obama to “refudiate” claims that the Tea Party movement is racist.

refudiate

The esteemed half-term Governor Sarah Palin(R-Pluto) developed this neologism as a means to demonstrate her unparalleled capacity for steadfast denial of fact and truth.

Refudiate comes from the root "repudiate," and when combined Palin's all-american bravado and insistence that she's right even when she's wrong, a new word is added to the national lexicon.

Common "repudiate" meanings:

Refuse to accept or be associated with

Deny the truth or validity of

Palin "refudiate" meanings:

Refuse to accept or be associated with anything that doesn't serve my political agenda.

Deny the truth or validity of ANYTHING at my discretion, ESPECIALLY when it is actually true.

In summary, "refudiate" generally means: to deny and disassociate oneself from the truth at all costs.
I did not quit as Governor, I refudiate that. I was forced out by the gotcha media and the global liberal conspiracy determined to rob of us of our divine right to shoot wolves from helicopters.

redundancy

A set of words in common usage that includes a needless modifier. Not to be confused with an oxymoron (where two terms of the same phrase literally contradict each other) or euphamism (a phrase used to change the emotional charge of a a word or phrase).
Examples of actual redundancies:

- ATM machine ("Automatic teller machine machine"? Just say "ATM".)
- PIN number ("Personal identification number number"?)
- "Call now for your FREE GIFT!" (well of course it's free, otherwise it wouldn't be a gift!)
- end result
- bare naked
- past experience

Redundant Definition

A redundant defintion occurs when someone submits a word to the Urban Dictionary that has already been published. This can either be caused by failing to look up the word before submitting it or by a dumbass who doesn't care if the word is already in the UD.

This term does not apply to an entirely different meaning or to a rebuttal defintion, but to a definition that is almost or exactly the same as a previous entry.

There really is no legitimate excuse for redundant definitions!
For examples of a redundant definition just look up Obama. There are several Obama definitions that are word-for-word indentical! There is no excuse for THAT kind of bullshit!
Now there is a redundant definition of redundant definition. Oh, the irony..
