Yes, a lot of shitty stuff happened in 2016, but when you compare it to LITERALLY any year between 2020 and 2024, turns out it wasn't thaaaaaaat bad.

You never imagined
your storm-filled eyes
would become light

The angels came,
patiently,
and reconciled me
with the realm of my dreams.
They bound
fear
and terror.
A familiar voice said:
"Love is flowing through you now.
This is the realm of lovers—
pure
and safe.
Do not be afraid.
Walk freely within it."
Then they taught me
joy,
peace,
kindness,
and above all,
love.
And me—
pregnant with your love—
they watched over
with great care.
And I never would have believed
that the path of love
could lead through
the alleys of lust.
The feeling of guilt dissolved,
and I saw
the hidden parts of myself.
And throughout this journey,
you were
my only companion.
