n. Short for "web abbreviation." These internet acronyms either contribute to our rich online culture or expedite the demise of intellectual civilization (depending on who you ask). Some popular webbreviations include lol, brb, ttyl, btw & idk.

Steve: How would I look in a cape?

Steve: Whatever. I'll never be able to pull it off as well as Dina anyway.
Randy: lol
Steve: Randy, stop that!
Randy: Stop what?
Steve: You've gotta be the only loser who uses webbreviations when chatting in person.

Webiste

This neologism started off life as a typo but I believe it deserves a better fate. Webiste claims 930,000 Google hits in April, 2007 which means that it now deserves to be taken seriously. The meaning I feel that best suits the word is "a lover of Websites" i.e. a Website-ophile.

I've worked with half-a-dozen Web-designers before, but I have to say that Joe is a real Webiste and I'd never work with anyone else on a project again.

A weblag is when there is information available in the non-digital world that hasn't made it onto the web yet.

Weblag is when you see a flyer for an event, class, etc. You go to the sponsor's web site, and it isn't posted there.

By webstalking my friend from high school, he was able to find her current address, the name and place of business of her husband, part of her social security number, and the schools to which all of her kids belong. I also found numerous photos from throughout the years through webstalking.

Named after Rube Goldberg's "Goldberg Machines."

Man, my browser has spent most of its time locked up ever since YouTube became a Goldberg Website.
