Comedy Rock Revival

The musical movement beginning in mid-2006 in which many comical musicians started gaining popularity. The re-emergence of "Weird Al" Yankovic showed the first signs and other artist such as Bo Burnham and The Lonely Island also pioneered this movment.

Note: This genre is a continuation of the original comedy rock rock movement, also started by "Weird Al" Yankovic

Note: Comedy rock is NOT referring to rock music that is humorous. The "rock" part does not necessarily mean that the music is rock.

The Comedy Rock Revival was one of the best movements in music history!

My buddies' Dad would shake his head and remark about his progeny, "You're nothin' but a bunch of goddamn come bubbles!" while he was drinking at hunting camp. Similar to "the best part of you ran down your mother's leg", or "I wiped off the best of you off on the curtains after banging your Mom", this were ideological put-downs the Old Man would throw out after hearing the shenanigans his kids did unbeknownst to him while they were growing up.

Comedy Jazz

Much like music, comedy can be so technically good, that it's not funny. Some comedians who are known as "comedian's comedians" are actually doing comedy jazz. The audience might not get it, but the comedians backstage are rolling around laughing.

"I don't really think this comedian is funny."
"Well it's comedy jazz, it's a bit over your head. They're more of a comedian's comedian."
