Saturday afternoon movie 

A movie that you stumble upon while surfing through the channels on a rainy Saturday afternoon and watch because you have nothing else better to do. Typically a decent flick, but you wouldn't go out of your way to see it; rather, you are solely watching it out of convenience. Often shown on cable networks such as TNT, FX, and USA.

Examples include: The Rock, Con Air, Tremors, Die Hard's 1-4, any other movie by Michael Bay or Roland Emmerich, etc...

"Dude, Con Air and The Rock are possible the two best Saturday afternoon movies of all time."

"The 1990's saw the production of many awesome Saturday afternoon movies."

Related to the term "pornstache" in that pornos are sterotyped as having a lot of mustachioed men

Fred: No, dude! It won the academy award for best picture in 1969!
Hank: Oh great! Now their awarding best picture to pornos!?
