geek tax

Geek Tax is the amazing waste of time that you must endure when crap stops working.

Today my internet stopped working. I've been troubleshooting various things for the past few hours, and I'm not sure I've accomplished anything. I think the problem is upstream from me, but I didn't get to this conclusion before unplugging, uninstalling, restarting, cursing, for a few hours. I almost redesigned my network topology in the process. What a high Geek Tax!

Of course the next tax will surely be in the form of re-installing windows or something like that.

A corruption of German+English taken to mean something that it doesn't.

uber geek: “UE-ber geek’y” from the german word “über” meaning over and the modern term “geek” referring to a technologically inclined individual.

I feel like an uber geek for knowing that über means "over" not "ultra."

1. A Geek who doesn't look like a geek, but more of an athlete. 2. Someone who loves to take part in StarTrec and Star Wars conventions but just doesn't fit in due to their aggressive look and build. 3. A nerd that can not be pushed around.

I have a Power Geek friend at school, but no one messes with him because he would demolish them for trying!

A smart person who has both technical and social skills. Not to be confused with nerd who has technical skills but only has those technical skills because he has the time from not having friends or any form of a social life.
