religiomedy

A category or way of describing media (film, books, plays, etc.) that is lighthearted and comedic in tone, yet has an underlying theme of religion or uses a religious backdrop. Religiomedies often tend to be sacrilicious, but are never meant to taken too seriously as a slight against God or as ridicule.

1. The movie "Dogma" was one of the best religiomedies I've ever seen.

2. Steve's play at Loyola Academy was a great religiomedy, not to mention very sacrilicious.

3. Catholicism is a favored target of many religiomedies.

best Christian rock band ever

hits all genres: techno, punk, soft rock, emo, gospel, half country, and then there are the songs that can only be described as Relient K

covers all moods: praise, pessimism, hatred, love, bliss, shallow, nostalgic, bitter,... all can occur in the same exact song, too

they sing of love, how idiotic the world is, and God/Jesus

can sound so smack-daddy whilst singing about such moral topics. they have achieved what no one else these days can: not swearing, drinking, partying, or sexing, but still being amazing.
