The prisoner by law must be taken to a comfortable hospital bed with free food to by cleared medically. This can often take hours - thus avoiding a cold cement cell a period of time.

He went to turn himself into Gwinnett County. They cut the draw string out of his favorite pants, and made him empty his pockets. He had a lot of xanax in those pockets that they took while searching him. If he had a good pair of jail pants he would have had an easier 48 hours ahead of him.
