curling

Curling is a sport involving ice, brooms, and originally a rock. It is chiefly played in Canada. Unlike hockey, it is not taken seriously in the United States. Many suspect that it is a byproduct of both the cold Northern climate and the Canadian propensity for beer.

That curling is an Olympic sport baffles Americans who don't consider it a sport at all.

Curling Child

Curling Child/Curling Kid - A term mainly used in European countries.

A child that's put on a pediestal and constantly serviced/spoiled by parents who also act overprotective toward it, without being provided any expectations or boundaries.

The child is the curling stone and the parents are sweeping in front of them so they effortlessly slide through life. Always having things polished and being sent in a certain direction without having to do anything themselves because the parents baby them and sweep their path free of any hardship, or mildly unpleasant situations.

(A child of something similar to Helicopter Parenting.)

"Wow, he expects me to do the entire assignment but for him to get praise and credit as well? Must be a Curling Child."
"She never lets her child be accountable for achieving something he wants. She's raising him into becoming a Curling Kid"
