Someone who strives too be unique and different, and would usually avoid mainstream. Typical hipsters have a certain taste in music, food, etc. and they'd think that only smart people would appreciate it.
Opposite of normie

A: Wanna get some pizza?
B: No way, it's too mainstream!
A: You're such a hipster.

Someone who acts different (or at least outside the hipster subgroup, because they obviously all act the same), but only for the purpose of being different.

"I don't have a beard, only hipsters have beards. I have a type of mustache that was only popular in the 1963 gay scene of a small mountain village near Buenos Aires. You probably never heard of it." (A Hipster, probably)

Hipster

Noun: Someone who drinks shitty beer and listens to shitty music while wearing mismatched clothes. All the while trying to be different they all look exactly alike. They are the most harmful when traveling in groups, or "hoards". Hipsters can catch unsuspecting victims off guard by their sheer numbers and intense pretentious snobbery. Alone hipsters are harmless and weak but in large groups they can turn even the nicest hang outs into cesspools.

That hipster can't put his iphone down long enough to enjoy his dirty jeans.

A derogatory term used by artists/art students to refer to someone who feigns interest in the arts merely to look cool, counter-cultural, and woke; a poseur in the art scene.

Niki's such a hipster - she pretends to be an art history buff but she can't name any painters beside Van Gogh.

Zack comes off as loving art, but in reality he doesn't care about it at all and is just pretending to pick-up chicks.
