power trio

(noun) A rock band consisting of three musicians, usually a guitarist, a bassist and a drummer. This common power trio format was developed in the 1960s by Cream and the Jimi Hendrix Experience and continues to be popular today. Often emphasis is placed on the technical skill of the individual members of the power trio. Hence many power trios are known for their extended instrumental breaks during live performance.

Nirvana were a power trio.

To repeatedly text another person in an effort to get their attention immediately. Often about something minor or unimportant to everyone but the person power texting. Similar to power calling.

Power is most simply defined in Physics as the rate at which work is done. More specifically, it's the ratio of work to time. See below for an interesting usage of "power."

The timeslot where "24" is televised. Literally, an hour (minus commercials) of Jack Bauer (bad-ass counter-terrorist agent played by Keifer Sutherland) using his power (knocking off the bad guys in bad-ass ways).

Power Hour

Take one shot of beer every minute for an hour. This can be more or less potent depending on what kind of beer you drink. From strongest to weakest, your choices are malt liquor, ice beer, regular beer, and light beer. To make a power hour even better, burn a 60 minute CD with 60 1 minute tracks. Play a different song for every shot you take!

Ilan: I doubt I could last the full hour.
Todd: It depends on what you drink... lightweights can roll with the light beer. If it's not enough get more drizzed later!
