Type A personalities are driven. Type D personalities are driven to be difficult (or dick-ish). They go out of their way to make others lives difficult.

So called because they were the rejects of Europe, kicked out because they were religious nuts (yanks), drunkards (Canucks), criminals (strines) or greedy prostitute nazis (afrikaaner). This term is used by europeans to remind colonists that they are scum, and are below europe.
