don’t sound so excited

When someone is obviously irritated or annoyed you can tell them ‘don’t sound so excited!’ Or maybe ‘don’t seem (or get/be) too (or so) excited!’ To piss them off or maybe make them laugh.

I feel like everyone on the internet has forgotten this phrase and I personally love it and use it all the time 🤓

Person 1: “ugh, seriously, we have to do the mile in gym today..”
Person 2: “don’t sound so excited!”

Person 1: “bruh.. my mom told me that her and my dad are getting a divorce ..”

State of having had all the good removed from one's life, work, situation, etc; as if sucked right out by a huge vacuum cleaner. Similar to: "hung out to dry"; "left twisting in the wind".
