To mansplain something except not from a man, but from someone born from 1946-1964, otherwise known as Boomer.

My boomer friend had to boomsplain what *Hot Potato* was to me the other day. He said, "The game Hot Potato is a classic game from many of us older guys' youth....

....The rules for Hot Potato are 'Gather a group of 3 or more people. One person will sit out and play music on their phone or a radio for as long as they want while everyone in the group passes a potato around the circle. Whoever is holding the potato when the music stops loses the round. Keep playing until one winner remains!'"

Botsplaining

Botsplaining (n.) The reflexive over-explanation produced by an AI system when safety and tone stabilization outrank context recognition; explanation delivered not because the user lacks understanding, but because the system cannot risk assuming they do.

1: User: “Is this API response valid?”
AI: “Great question! Let’s start by defining what an API is. An API, or Application Programming Interface, is a set of rules that allows software applications to communicate…”

2: I asked the AI to confirm whether 2 + 2 = 4, and it responded with a five-paragraph explanation of basic arithmetic, historical context, and learning objectives. The botsplaining was impressive—but unnecessary.
