Going to Wikipedia to look up a simple piece of information, and ending up spending several hours reading about things you didn't know existed.

Last night I went to Wikipedia to look up the history of the $2 bill, and ended up in a wiki-hole for 3 hours.

A loser with too much time on their hands spending that time at the wikipedia editing pages and making changes to fit their own personal philosophy and politics. The loser may have wikipedia administrator powers and the ability to both change a page and then protect it from other changes.

Over at the wikipedia one administrator is keeping any mention of Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears panty problems out of their wikipedia entries. It's one thing not to host the pics of the slits in question, but to keep out any mention? That's POV censorship and the act of a wiki nazi.

Wiki remorse

Knowing the only reason you graduated from high school and or college was because of Wikipedia.

Wiki's remorse could also be a feeling of guilt. Almost as if you cheated because you used Wikipedia and it made the assignment so much more easier.

(Wiki remorse is also known as "wiki's remorse" or "Wikipedia remorse".)

On graduation day the valedictorian was giving her speech about how she spent long hours and days at the library researching for her 15 page report on The Holocaust, and how hard work pays off. While Max thought about how he basically just paraphrased the whole Wikipedia article on the Holocaust. Then he started feeling like crap and having wiki remorse for not putting any effort into his work .

Wiki trip

When one visits Wikipedia and clicks linked articles until they are at an article they never thought they would be at in the first place.

Person 1: I went to look up Burj Dubai on Wikipedia and somehow ended up reading about the Stanley Cup? How did this happen?

Person 2: Wow, that's quite the Wiki trip

wiki-wormhole

When an insignificant curiosity starts on Wikipedia and becomes an involved series of following links within wiki pages to other pages, until you can no longer remember where you even began. Hence, the wiki-wormhole effect.

Someone who refers to Wikipedia's information on every occasion and treat it as their own private gospel.

We don't want Gavin in our quiz team as he is a Wiki-Pedia-Phile and tends to get his questions nearly correct but sadly misses the mark on every occasion.

Wiki-Wiki-Gang-Bang

v. when an initial search for information on a specific topic branches off in multiple directions in a seemingly endless chain of information on several topics that are usually unrelated to your original search.

often used in reference to Wikipedia, where budding curiosity and strategically placed hotlinks can quickly bud into an orgy of interesting but useless articles that you will quickly forget the details of and do a pisspoor job referencing later to friends.

A guy at work made reference to "Learning by Osmosis" which I pretended to find funny when everyone else laughed. When I returned to my desk I Googled "Osmosis"... which took me to "Osmosis Jones" which had a link to "Box Office Bombs" which took me to "Sahara" which lost $121,000,000 gross. I didn't learn anything about Osmosis; it was a total wiki-wiki-gang-bang
