A Moon Shaped Pool

Radiohead album released in 2016. While it's possibly their moodiest album to date, it has some of the most intricate songs the band has ever created. It reflects a very emotional, yet creative time for the band. The album includes masterpieces such as "Daydreaming", "True Love Waits" and "Present Tense". A Moon Shaped Pool is a 10/10.

Heart-Shaped Box

The song by Nirvana was through the eyes of an aborted fetus-- Or, at least, that is one of the interpretations. The Heart-Shaped Box in this case could be a name for the uterus.

Courtney Love gave Kurt Cobain an actual box shaped like a heart, containing love letters, the head of a baby doll and other things symbolic in their relationship. Therefore, the title of the song has a double-meaning.

Heart-Shaped Box could either mean a uterus or Kurt's gift from Courtney.

pear shaped

A term meaning "to go to hell in handbasket" or "when the shit hits the fan." Reportedly of British or Cockney origin, from the Royal Air Force's description of circular flight paths gone awry, or "pear-shaped."

Also may relate to a popular French Revolution caricature of "citizen King" Louis-Philippe, drawn by Honore Daumier and Charles Philipon in 1832 as a jowly pear. The French term "poire," or pear, was slang for "fool" or "idiot" - and soon thereafter, all caricatures of the King were banned, pear-shaped or not.

"To say that it all goes pear-shaped is an under statement. The reactors go out of control and quickly the effort is not to save the plant, but to minimise the effects."
