chain letter

A virally propagated scam, formerly sent entirely through snail mail, but now more frequently sent through email. It operates basically as a pyramid scheme in which the recipient is urged to send a small sum of money to each person on a short list of names and addresses, with the promise that they will receive a lot of money when they rotate their name into the list, and the oldest name off of it, and mail the letter to everyone they know.

Some chain letters try to scam people even further, by instructing them rotate their name into the oldest position, so that the very next recipient will rotate them off of it, so that only the first names and addresses on the list will get any money.

The act of performing multiple Dutch Rudders in a chain, involving everyone into the wonderful experience. As many people as possible can join in and people can host "Rudder Parties" where the main aim of the party is to make everyone climax at the same time through a long Chain Rudder.

chainsaw

A power tool designed to efficiently cut trees by means of a motorized chain with serrated edges, hence the term chainsaw. Chainsaws usually consist of a two-stroke gasoline engine, but with electric power being more commonplace, some chainsaw brands are electric-powered. However, in popular culture, the chainsaw has gained notoriety as a potential weapon or an instrument of torture and/or gruesome murder, most famously in the movies Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Hostel, and Scarface. The chainsaw has also been featured in video games such as Doom 3 and Resident Evil 4, where it has become an icon.

In Resident Evil 4, the player can be gruesomely decapitated by Doctor Salvador or The Bella Sisters, the main chainsaw-wielding enemies of the game.

An expression of utter disbelief at how messed up a situation has become. Note there is an ASL sign for this term. With your left hand hold your index and middle fingers down with all other fingers curled up, a sort of upside down peace sign. with your right hand make the same sign with the fingers pointing up, but together. With an arcing swing, bring the right fingers into the "crotch" of the left fingers "legs". Then with both hands still locked, shake them briefly as you move them from left to right, as if the figure was running backwards, with the chainsaw still stuck in its ass.

Alice in Chains

Alice in Chains was an excellent hard rock band that came out of Seattle in the early 1990's. Although thought of as a grunge band due to local acts such as Nirvana and Soundgarden breaking into the mainstream around the same time of their second album release, their only musical tie to the genre was their dark and depressing subject matter.

In addition to the dark subject matter, their music also featured gritty vocals courtesy of frontman Layne Staley, amazing guitar riffs by virtuoso Jerry Cantrell, and slick drum work by Sean Kinney. Their bassist, Mike Inez, however was horrible beyond words.

Past albums include "Jar of Flies", their magnum opus "Dirt", and the self-titled "Alice in Chains".

The band unfortunately broke up due to internal strife and the unfortunate death of Layne Staley in April of 2002. The world would've been a much better place had there been at least one more AiC record to listen to...

A compilation album is available for anyone wishing to get acquainted with this influential band.

Alice in Chains is hands down one of the best rock bands to ever exist.
