background obsess

To background obsess is to obsess over something or someone while still carrying on with your daily life. You continue to fulfill your daily tasks and obligations without a noticeable decrease in mindfulness or attentiveness, but the object of your obsession is never far from your mind, and you often find yourself thinking about it/them without consciously having meant to.

She's going to be background obsessing about that job interview until she hears back from them.

1. The utter refusal of Celtic fans to focus on their team instead of others, choosing to talk endlessly about Rangers instead.

Obsessed ex girlfriend

One psycho girl who doesn't get the picture that you don't want to hang out with her and you don't want to spend time with her. Becomes a problem when you have a new girlfriend and constantly tries to be a caddy bitch and to get involved when the guy loves his new girlfriend more than he loved his "obsessed ex girlfriend".

O.E.G: oh my god i cry every day i'm an obsessed ex girlfriend and i can't live without you
Guy: I'm with my new girlfriend and i love her.
O.E.G: but i'm in love with you please come back to me
Guy: no i don't think we'll ever work out again, i love my new girlfriend.
