a casual nerd knows alot about nerdly type things without actually being a nerd.can tell you alot about comic book heros without having read any comic books. knows alot about star trek but cannot tell you episodes or movie names. owned a commodore 64 but never ordered pizza with the "Sam" voice emulator.

"Wow, Tom knows alot about superman, he must have a big collection of comics". "No man, he doesn't collect that shit, he's just a casual nerd".

Sweaty Nerd

someone who trys way too hard to get high kill games and wins in fortnite, basically ruin the game for everyone just trying to have fun.

will rush you, build on yo ass, and get the luckiest 1 pump possible ruining your whole game

will stay home from school for weeks just to get good at building in playground mode.

pretty good if they are your friends cause they can carry you to the dub, but otherwise they annoying as hell

drama nerd

Spends lots of time in greenroom, sold soul to spring musical, knows that a paint brush cant be clean until clear water runs through it, can sing every song on rent soundtrack, feels most at home in the middle of a stage, eyes and skin burn when in direct sunlight as a cause of being inside a theatre too much, likes to defy assistant managers, people person, live off of energy drinks, mooch off of everyone for food.

Drama nerds really are the shit.

Nerd

A person who's highly intelligent and generally is against the mainstream of society. Unlike the goths, they are truely non-conformists. In the past they were generally shunned by society due to a lack of physical attractiveness, intelligence, and unusual maturity. A great illustration of Nerd life "back in the day" is the Revenge of the Nerds movies. In the modern area a "nerd" no longer is shunned from society. A modern nerd generally likes computers and video games. They could look like the nerds of old but they can also look like normal people.
Many have theorized to why nerds have been accepted into the mainstream. Two popular theories is that when video games became mainstream nerds and their mortal enemies the jocks were able to become friends. Also because computers now dominate our society nerds are accepted.
Also take note that the portion of nerds who are still shunned from society have became either a goth or an emo.

"I love Nerds" Man..I wish girls wore those shirts back when I was a kid.
