Hakimi's law

It is a traditional practice where a married man transfers all belongings under his name to a close relative of his shortly into his marriage to protect himself from possible greedy and selfless abuse of a divorce by his wife resulting in him losing 50% of all belongings or a possibly higher proportion.

I might follow hakimi's law to protect myself soon, I'm worried my partner will divorce me for my money and belongings.

Quintessentially Jewish, especially in the sense of being homey or folksy. From Yiddish heymish/heimish, "cozy, domestic, home-like."

I've always thought of Fred Meyer as being a sort of haimish Walmart.
