Much like the device the term was named after, it is awkwardly insisting something to be where it shouldn't.

The producer insisted the writers shoe horned a romantic sub-plot in what was supposed to just be a horror-themed crime drama.

"There was no opportunity in the conversation for Chris to talk about this thing that was only interesting to him, so he shoe-horned it into the conversation with an awkward segway."

Sourwood honey

Succulent honey from the rolling hills of North Carolina that takes 3 decades for the nimble bees to produce carefully, and it spoils after 12 days or if the temperature of the Queen Bee drops below 18 celcius. After the 3 decades have passed the farmer then takes 7 and 2 quarter months to harvest each honeycomb chamber and sells each quart for 75 dollars. Goes best on Daves Killer Bread but if the bread isnt toasted the honey drips through the pores and you can wash your plate for 11 hours.

I forgot to toast my bread before applying this Sourwood honey...

Mad as a hornet

When someone is beyond angry. Full of rage. Hornets are really angry and relentless, hence the term, "mad as a hornet".

1. Jane was playing hide and seek and was trying to hide in the closet quickly, but smashed her finger in the closet door. Jane was mad as a hornet.

2. If someone is very upset, you ask them "are you mad as a hornet?" Their reaction will tell you how mad they are.
