A.S.S.H.A.
T. is an acronym for 'American Society for Simple, Humane Animal Treatment'. Similar to their counterparts PETA and ASPCA, A.S.S.H.A.
T. is involved with protecting abused and endangered animals. They first gained notoriety when they aired a broadcast, commercial spot depicting a scruffy, young man jumping from a van,
jump kicking a homeless man holding a 'I am an animal too' sign and rushing to the rescue of a mangy puppy. The commercial was considered too controversial for U.S.
television and banned.
