It's the term Kate sycophants use to describe all commentators critical of Kate Middleton (Prince William's on/off girlfriend-possible future ex-wife). 'Kate haters' are generally realistic, critical observers of the Kate and co. circus. Ready to call the 'circus troupe' out on their inconsistencies.

Kate sycophant: Kate didn't ask for any of this. Kate is a private individual-- You're just jealous!

'Kate hater': She's courted the press since day 1. She sued for invasion of privacy after posing for the paparazzo and wishing him a Jolly Christmas.
