A ring that a boy typically gets a girl to prove his immortal love for her. A promise for the love he tends to hold onto and that he’ll forever stay by her until they’re vowels are spoken✨🤞🏻

A ring that a boy typically gives a girl to show how committed they are to them. It’s a promise for the future that they will still be together and no matter what happens he’ll forever be by her side through sickness and health. A promise for them to be married in the future✨🤞🏻

n. A promise that's expressed by someone who doesn't fully realise the importance of keeping promises they make to someone else. This kind of promise is generally impossible to keep because the promiser has no influence or control over the situation whatsoever. Alternatively, these promises might get broken because the promiser, knowingly or otherwise, lacked the commitment or the know-how/energy/ability to fully see it through.
Derived from American (Hollywood) films and TV shows that contain characters, who make this kind of promise.

Promiseering is the cynical use of promises to obtain consent or support from a base for a short term course of action that secures a position of leverage for the promiser, with the option of abandoning the promise when the leverage is obtained.
During election campaigns, some politicians may resort to promiseering tactics to secure the vote for themselves.
