A reference to the greatest tale of revenge ever spun: Alexandre Dumas' "the Count of Monte Cristo". Used to convey one's intent to reap complete and utter vengeance upon a person or persons, by taking away literally everything they consider worth anything at all, including both things they love deeply, and even things that just mildly entertain them.
