Known by many as a quiet but well meaning, intense, professional who enjoyed his fans. No longer acknowledged by WWE except in few rare mentions.
Benoit’s fall from grace occurred June 2007 with what is infamously remembered as the Benoit Family Tragedy which saw Nancy Benoit, son Daniel and Chris himself all found deceased. Policed later ruled the case a murder/suicide. Causes for the tragedy are often laid on CTE, concussions, abuse of painkillers and Benoit’s declining mental health following Eddie Guerrero‘s death in 2005.
