Suburbia

Suburbia is not the country, the woods or small towns in the middle of nowhere. Suburbia is semi-urban areas built around a city, often suburbs have malls and chain restaurants. Sometimes a town that was not suburban for years become a suburbia in a fast growing city. (cities out west or in the South)

People who grow up in a small town don't have suburban values. Suburban values come from people who lived in a city/town that was always suburbia their entire lives, or most of their lives. A town that still has a display with time and temperature outside the bank is not suburbia, it's a small town, and wouldn't be confused with suburbia.

Suburban

Depending on who you're trying to get riled up, you could start a string of misinformation about Nigerian cities having suburban origins, you could do the same thing with about any information about any country.

The guy was trying to get the locals in Sri Lanka riled up, so he started a string of misinformation to get some of the changes he wanted to see. The cities in Sri Lanka weren't as large as Tokyo, New York, London, or Paris, so they must be easy, suburban targets.
