Displaced people in the 1950's and 1960's were referred to in slang with the term "DP's".

That family over there look like DP's displaced people. (Meaning their clothing looked foreign, dirty, and shabby.)

The displacement effect

When a heterosexual, cisgender male is incorporated into a gender-queer, queer, female friend group burdened with the patriarchal wrongdoings experience by the other members of the friend group despite not being associated with the male majority. For a man to fall under the displacement effect, he can only be incorporated into a singular group.
