Get the Scabooger mug.A schoogie is a term adults use as a euphamism when speaking to children about dried nasal secretions (aka - boogers, snots, etc.). They often think that other adults will believe their children to be more cute and less vulgar than other children, but when this term is used at school the child is looked upon as a creature from Mars.
Don: Jimmy, gross! You have a schnoogie hanging from your nose!
Jimmy: A what?!?
Don: You know, a booger.
Silence
(All children stop looking at Jimmy and stare at Don wide-eyed)

The salesmen were giving out schmoogies to the customers to advertise our name in their office. Putting our name on the schmoogies makes them remember us more than the competition.

Get the scroogies mug.A Schwoogie was a name for neighbor kids who were essentially moochers. We used this back in the mid-80's in Kenosha Wisconsin. A distant relative who was deep into Dungeons & Dragons came up with this after we were all tired of neighbor kids knocking on the door every 1/2 hour to borrow something or to get an aspirin for their mom. Two others and I sat down one night and created a long definition which we passed around to friends to get a laugh. (I wish I still had the original definition) It had nothing to do with race. Our group of friends that hung around Kenosha McDonalds on Sheridan Rd. began calling each other Schwoogie just for entertainment purposes. Whether the person whom we credit with the word stole the term, I do not know.
