short ringed

When calling someone's mobile phone and the caller is sent to voicemail after just one ring. If the phone was off, it would go to voicemail immediately. Short ringing means the receiver does not care to talk to the caller.

Friend 1: I was trying to call my girlfriend, but it went to voicemail after only one ring. I guess she doesn't want to talk to me.

Friend 2: Dude, you just got short ringed.

When your house gets robbed because you posted on social media that you're not at home.

Named after "The Bling Ring", a gang that robbed the homes of celebrities in Hollywood in late 2008/early 2009. "The Bling Ring" is also the name of a 2013 film, based on the story of the gang.

"Would you rather be trolled, catfished or bling-ringed?"

"Paris Hilton's house was bling-ringed three times!"

Dead Ringer

The Dead Ringer is a Cloak Watch in TF2. With it, the spy using it can use a percentage of the cloak's duration to feign their own death, and later reappear with a distinct sound effect, creating a nasty surprise for the would-be killer.

Spies using the Dead Ringer are tricky opponents.

Bird ringer

A person who stalks areas women tend to congregate under the pretense of researching local bird populations. Said person then catches and 'rings' as many females (birds) as possible. Ringing being the act of slipping a lubed up finger into their anus, at least two knuckles must enter for it to be classed as a successful ring.

We have recently finished compiling our 2020 ringing totals, and despite the lockdown, and the subsequent challenges and changes that followed, bird ringers researching our local populations in the area managed to catch and ring just over 5000 birds during the year. This is similar to many recent years, although down on the 8000+ ringed during the bumper year in 2019.
