He also portrayed a young Fillipino boy trying to come to grips with his heritage and how that effected his image amongst his american friends in the film The Debut. In yet another film, he played a gay young man sent to a sort of reform camp in But I'm a Cheerleader, which is a cult classic film... a must see.
