A self-identifying catch phrase that allows third parties to distinguish Jews willing to meaningfully sacrifice their heritage, identity, and kinfolk all to further a progressive cause directly in opposition to said Jewish Identity. Max Naumann, the leader of the Association of German National Jews, a Jewish organization during Nazi Germany that came out in support of Hitler was the first know case of a Jew saying "As a Jew I support Herr Hitler." Despite their loyalty to Hitler, the group was rejected by Nazis and deemed illegal. Max & other members were sent to concentration camps and their deaths. In effect As a Jew, means that anything following the phrases should be discounted.
