One's sense of having a Cuban identity as a descendant of Cuban immigrants in the diaspora. Alternatively, the degree to which one identifies with Cuban culture.

Pedro: How do you determine your cubanidad?
Faustino: Well I feel my cubanidad is grounded in my parents' experience of immigration from Cuba, and their struggle to start over in Miami.
Felipe: My cubanidad is less political than that, and more about the culture--dancing, music, food.
Pedro: So I guess there's both political and cultural components to my cubanidad. But more importantly, nobody can define your cubanidad for you. You have to feel your way through it, as a member of the Cuban people.
