The term "3/16th 8 inch beam" doesn't even have to refer to a beam thats 3/16th of an inch and 8 inches long. It simply refers to the most important part of any type of project.
"Hey John, go get the 3/16th 8 inch beam from the back of the truck" (In this case John is going to go get the most important part of the sink he is installing, the sink drain.)

And don't fret that said holy sanctum is being fabricated from sinful materials --- it's common knowledge that most churches were "built on hypocrisy" anyway, so you should be all good.
